‘The Nightingale and the Rose ‘ after Oscar Wilde
premiere at the Hippodrome State Theater, 2011
with Ani Collier
directed by Elena Panayotova
A story of unrequited love, this romantic 50 minute 'movement poem' opens up space for imagination. The Romantic era may be over but the characters of that vanishing time still gently awake on the stage: the dreamer longing for love, the reader longing for knowledge, the ballerina longing for beauty and perfection.
Can we still recognize them in ourselves, or they are lost forever in a different time?
This performance can be easily adapted to different venues.
